
Bondestad Finishes Tied For Seventh At Tiger Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. – Sophomore Philip Linberg Bondestad posted a seven over par 223 to claim a share of seventh place at the Tiger Invitational by Jason Dufnar. The two day, 54-hole event was being played at the Auburn University Club (par 72, 7,591 yards).
"Very proud of the way the guys fought really hard this week on a very challenging golf course," ECU Director of Golf/Head Coach Kevin Williams said. "I thought Phillip played very patient and really solid this week in leading us. We are excited to get home to Brook Valley to host our home tournament on Monday and Tuesday of next week."
Bondestad shot a final round of 74 (2-over) to lead the Pirates posting his second top Top 10 finish of the year and the fourth of his career. In all, he carded rounds of 76l 73 and 74.
Fellow classmate Lucas Augustsson finished tied for 44th with a score of 232 (16-over par) after rounds of 83, 72 and 77. Junior Carter Busse took a share of 49th after an 18-over par 234 (77-79-78), while graduate student Ethan Hall finished tied for 53rd at 19-over (74-80-81=235) and junior Tyler DeChellis tied for 80th at 28-over (80-85-79=244).
Top-ranked Auburn won the team event with a 16-over par score of 880 (298-284-298) followed by Florida Gulf Coast (302-294-299=895) while UNCW (304-290-308=902) and Elon (298-307-297=902) finished in a tie for third. ECU finished seventh in the team portion with a score of 919 (307-304-308). Auburn's second team finished fifth but did not count towards the team standings.
ECU will host the ECU Intercollegiate at the Brook Valley Country Club starting Monday, March 18.
