GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team will host Temple for their home finale at 2 p.m. on Sunday. For fans unable to attend game will be available for streaming on ESPN+ with Patrick Johnson and Brittany Hoyt on the call.
Senior Ceremony
Be in your seats early on Sunday as the Pirates will honor the senior class of Micah Dennis, Synia Johnson, Danae McNeal and Morgan Moseley.
Last Time Out
The Pirates came up short in an all-time classic at North Texas, 93-91 in quadruple overtime. Danae McNeal scored 32 points in the game, her fifth 30-point game of the season and her seventh-straight 20-plus point outing. MyMy Joyner and Tatyana Wyche were brilliant with 16 points/16 rebounds and 19 points/14 rebounds, respectively. It was the duos second game in a row both recording double-doubles and Wyche's 19 points were a career high.
Scouting Temple
The Owls find themselves in one of the tightest regular-season title races any of us are likely to see. After falling to Tulsa in their last contest, the team is now in a three-way tie at 11-5 in league play with the Golden Hurricane and North Texas with two games to play. Aleah Nelson and Tiarra East have been fabulous on the season with 12.4 points per game each as well as over 100 assists for Nelson and over 100 rebounds for East.
Series History
Despite trailing the all-time series 11-4, the Pirates have won two-straight games against the Owls, both coming last season. Most recently, the two teams met in Minges Coliseum where ECU took down Temple comfortably, 67-52, this after a 72-51 win in Philadelphia earlier in the year. MyMy Joyner starred in the game with 23 points and 14 rebounds.
