
Augustsson And ECU Claim Titles At Cutter Creek Intercollegiate

SNOW HILL, N.C. – East Carolina sophomore Lucas Augustsson fired a 9-under par 207 to claim top medalist honors the 2024 Cutter Creek Intercollegiate, while the Pirates won the team title with a 24-under par tournament score of 840 capturing their second team win of the season. The three-day, 54-hole event was being held at the Cutter Creek Golf Club (par-72, 7,147 yards).
With his individual win, Augustsson now has a program-best four tournament career wins besting the duo of John Maginnes (3) and Francis Vaughn (3). Augustsson fired rounds of 72, 64 and 71 finishing one shot ahead of fellow classmate Philip Linberg Bondestad, who recorded rounds of 68, 72 and 68 for an 8-under par 208.
Junior Carter Bussee finished fourth, three shots behind Augustsson, with a 6-under par 209 (71-66-72). Graduate student Ethan Hall recorded a share of 21st with a score of 216 (73-72-71) finishing at even par. Junior Tyler DeChellis (77-74-72) and freshman Drew O'Neal (72-73-78) claimed a share of 50th at 223 (7-over).
Playing as individuals were freshman Adam Lennermark (t18 at 215), freshman Nathan O'Neal (t55 at 224) and sophomore Davis DeLille (t84 at 230).
ECU, who shot rounds of 284, 276 and 280, finished two shots ahead of co-host Elon (291-273-278=24), while Old Dominion (296-279-280=855) placed third at 9-under. Rounding out the top five were Davidson College (286-290-271=857) and Campbell (288-288-288=864).
The Pirates will return to action on Friday, April 5 when they play in a 36-hole event at NC State.
