Pirates Split Pair Of Matches In Virginia

HAMPTON, Va. – The East Carolina women's tennis team took its final regular season road trip over the weekend, falling to Richmond 5-2 Friday before knocking off Hampton by a 4-3 score on Saturday.
The Pirates (9-7) have matched their win total from last season with two matches to play before the American Athletic Conference Championship tournament in Dallas which begins April 17th.
ECU captured the doubles point in its bout with the Spiders but dropped five of six singles matches. The Pirates rebounded from a doubles setback to Hampton by winning four times in singles play to rally for the victory.
Kim Auerswald continued her solid campaign by winning both of her singles matchups. She is now 10-4 this season.
Up Next: East Carolina returns home to close out the regular season with contests against Davidson (April 6) and Norfolk State (April 13).
