
Woodring Named AAC Player Of The Week

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina senior utility Taylor Woodring has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week according to an announcement by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Woodring is coming off a stellar week of play as she batted .600 at the plate with five RBI and three home runs to help lead the Pirates to four wins including a sweep over UTSA which was the program's first sweep of a conference foe since 2021.

In Saturday's 10-2 win over UTSA, Woodring tied her career-high for hits in a game with three and added two home runs to help lead ECU to a six-inning victory over the Roadrunners. She also helped spark the Pirates' rally from a three-run deficit in Sunday's contest with a solo home run in the sixth inning.

The Lakewood Ranch, Fla. native is in the midst of a career season in batting average (.403), hits (27), doubles (five), RBI (12) and home runs (four). Woodring and the Pirates are back in action on Tuesday evening when ECU welcomes top-ranked Duke to Max R. Joyner Stadium for a 5 p.m. first pitch on ESPN+.
