July 19, 2024 | Men's Golf
GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina men's golf team will compete in 11 total events, including hosting a tournament in the fall and spring while co-hosting another during the 2024-25 campaign director of golf/head coach Kevin Williams announced Friday.
Â
The Pirates' fall slate begins Sept. 9 at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate before trekking to Davidson, N.C. for the River Run Collegiate (Sept. 16-17) and Durham, N.C. for the Rod Myers Invitational (Sept 22-23). ECU will host the Ironwood Collegiate Classic at Ironwood Golf and Country Club from Sept. 30-Oct. 1 and will close out the fall schedule at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational in Loxley, Ala.
Â
"I am very excited about the competitive balance in this year's schedule," Williams said. "We are very fortunate to host two home events and co-host a third one once again. The opportunity to be able to compete for all in our program is high and we are glad to provide that for our student-athletes."
Â
Once again, the spring season will get underway with back-to-back events in South Carolina with the Wexford Intercollegiate in Hilton Head (Feb. 17-18) and the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational in Aiken (March 10-11). The Pirates will host the ECU Intercollegiate at the Brook Valley Country Club (March 17-18) and co-host the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate with Elon from March 28-30 before closing out the regular season in Raleigh participating in the Stitch Invitational (April 11-12).
Â
The 2025 American Athletic Conference Championships will be held at the Ritz Carlton Members Club in Bradenton, Fla. from April 18-20, with the NCAA Regionals set for May 12-14 at six different host sites across the country. The NCAA Championship will be contested at the Champions Course at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa from May 23-28 in Carlsbad, Calif.
Â
ECU returns seven players from last year's team which includes a pair of seniors (Carter Busse and Tyler DeChellis), two juniors (Philip Linberg Bondestad and Davis DeLille) and three sophomores (Adam Lennermark, Drew O'Neal and Nathan O'Neal). The Pirates also welcome two freshman in Luke Mosley and Holden Rucker to round out the nine-man team.
