Pirates Announce 2024-25 Non-Conference Women’s Basketball Schedule
August 29, 2024 | Women's Basketball
GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team has announced its twelve-game non-conference slate. The Pirates will be in Minges Coliseum for six home contests while hitting the road for six more games away from home.
Â
The Pirates begin their season with a home game against Charleston Southern on November 6. From there, the Pirates hit the road for a contest at James Madison (11/10) before returning to Minges for a home tilt with Furman (11/14).
Â
The team will head back on the road on November 17 as they head to Columbia, S.C. to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Â
The Pirates are back at home for one more home game with Howard (11/20) before they head to Las Vegas for the UNLV Classic. Out west, the team will take on Montana State (11/27) and UNLV (11/29).
Â
December begins with a home contest against Elon (12/8) before a swing trip in the state of Virginia sees the Pirates take on Hampton (12/12) and Old Dominion (12/15). The Pirates will close out 2024 with a pair of home games against VCU (12/18) and UNCW (12/21).
Â
The Pirates will be looking to continue to build upon the success of the last two years with 42 wins over 2022-23 and 2023-24. The team reached the American Athletic Conference title game for the second year in a row in March and return great depth from that team.
Â
Captain Synia Johnson returns from injury and star forward Amiya Joyner returns for her junior year, as do Tatyana and Taliyah Wyche in the talented ECU frontcourt. In the backcourt, fans can anticipate the return of Jayla Hearp from injury, junior Bobbi Smith and Khia Miller back for her sophomore campaign.
Â
Additionally, the charge-taking maestro Morgan Moseley returns for her a graduate year; Kimora Jenkins returns for her senior season; and Jade Tillman is back for her sophomore season. The Pirates will bolster that depth with a terrific freshman class and a trio of incoming transfer players.
