
Pirates Earn United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The East Carolina soccer team has once again earned the 2023-24 United Soccer Coaches Academic Team Award, as announced by the organization.
In total 447 teams across men's (186) and women's (261) collegiate soccer to earn the award which is given to programs with a team GPA of 3.0 or greater. For their part, the Pirates posted a remarkable 3.47 mark as a group. The recognition makes nine of the last 10 years landing on the illustrious list for the program.
"I am proud of our team for receiving yet another United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award," said Head Coach Gary Higgins. "We strive for excellence on and off the field and the girls do a tremendous job of balancing their academic and athletic responsibility. Go Pirates!"
The Pirates officially open their 2024 campaign on Sunday, August 18 at 7 p.m. as they travel to Raleigh for a tilt with NC State.
