IRVING, Texas - East Carolina soccer's Caitlen-Star Dolan Boodram has been named the American Athletics Conference's Freshman of the Week, the league announced Monday.
The London native earned the honor after scoring her first career goal in the Pirates' 2-1 win at Temple on Thursday night, helping the team to a 1-0 start in conference play. Dolan Boodram was due as she has shown her quality all season with some tantalizing chances, including a couple of shots saved in the first half against the Owls.Â
The honor is the first for the star freshman and the third for the Pirates this season, joining Abby Sowa and Kylie Alvarez who previously earned Defensive Player of the Week recognition.
Dolan Boodram and the Pirates will be back in action at home on Thursday as they welcome UTSA to Johnson Stadium for the team's home conference opener.
