EDISTO BEACH, S.C. – East Carolina posted a tournament score of 894 (42-over) finishing in third place at the Edisto Island Invitational Tuesday late afternoon. The three-day, 54-hole event was being held at the 71, 5-980-yard Plantation Course at Edisto Island.

Senior Macie Burcham claimed a share of eighth place out of 77 golfers posting rounds of 76, 72 and 72 for a score of 220 (7-over par). Junior Ella Stalvey (79-74-71), who played as an individual, and fellow classmate Nicole Nash (80-73-72) recorded a tournament score of 224 (11-over) in a share of 11th place.

Sophomore Lisa Forss carded a 14-over par 227 with rounds of 74, 78 and 75 placing tied for 21st place, while senior Danielle Modder finished tied for 27th (229) posting rounds of 84, 76 and 69. Rounding out the Pirates roster was graduate senior Marta Perez in a tie for 38th with rounds of 85, 78 and 69 at 19-over.

Charleston won the team title with an 11-over par 871, followed by Elon at 20-over (880) completing the top three spots.

The Pirates, who closed out the fall season, returns to action on Jan. 25 participating in the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Fla.
