GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina looks to bounce back inside the friendly confines of Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum on Thursday evening when the Pirates host Division II opponent Elizabeth City State.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and the game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Patrick Johnson (play-by-play) and Jay Sonnhalter (analyst) on the call. Pirate fans can also tune in to 107.9 WNCT FM, 94.3 The Game or download the IBX app to hear Daron Vaught call the action.
Jordan Riley leads the Pirates with 20 points, seven rebounds and 4.5 steals per game while Giovanni Emejuru is averaging a double-double with 18.5 points and 11 rebounds per night. Isaiah Mbeng and Corey Caulker help run the Pirates' offense with 5.5 and 4.5 assists per contest respectively.
Scouting the Vikings
Elizabeth City State returns eight players from last season's squad that went 11-16 including a 4-13 mark in CIAA play. Senior guard Jaquantae Harris is the Vikings' leading returning scorer from a season ago, averaging 11.1 points on 36 percent shooting from behind the arc. Last year, the Vikings were one of the top teams in the CIAA in making the three (6.2 makes per game/3rd in CIAA) and guarding the three (29.5 opponent three-point percentage/3rd in CIAA).
