
Three Pirates Earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Honors

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Three members of the East Carolina Soccer team—Isabella Gutiérrez, Amy Mason and Ella Steck—have earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® honors, the organization announced Tuesday.
Gutiérrez, a senior from Guadalajara, Mexico, started all 18 games for the Pirates while serving as a team captain in 2025. In the classroom, she has compiled a 3.51 cumulative GPA in her studies for her Foreign Languages and Literature major.
Mason, a sophomore from Raleigh, started all 18 games as well, excelling her her wing role using her pace to make an impact on both ends of the field. She has earned a 3.97Â cumulative GPA, the highest on the team, while working towards an Exercise Physiology degree.
Steck, a junior from Forest Hill, Md., started all 18 games opposite Mason on the wing, proving to be both a scoring threat on offense and a timely stopper on defense. She has a cumulative GPA of 3.63 in her Entrepreneurship studies.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible, student athletes must have a 3.5-or-greater GPA in the classroom while competing in 90 percent of the institution's matches played or starting in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches.Â
