
Zuniga and Hernandez Earn Second Sweep of American Conference Weekly Diving Honors

IRVING, Texas – East Carolina redshirt senior Frida Zuniga and freshman Romina Hernandez have been named the American Conference Diving Athlete of the Week and Freshman Diving Athlete of the Week respectively according to an announcement from the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
The weekly recognition from the league for the two divers marks the second time this season that the pair have earned their respective honors and swept the American's weekly diving awards.
Zuniga earns her ninth career diving athlete of the week after winning both the 1-meter (313.05) and 3-meter (382.05) dives this past Saturday against UNC Asheville. Zuniga's score on the 3-meter dive set a new Minges Pool record which she previously held with a score of 359.25.
Hernandez continues her impressive first year as a Pirate, earning honors for the second time this year after finishing second in the 3-meter (283.28) on Saturday and qualifying for the NCAA Zone Championships.
