
Bondestad Finishes Tied For Fifth At Wexford Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – East Carolina junior Philip Linberg Bondestad finished tied for fifth place with a one-under par score of 2015 at the 2025 Wexford Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon. The Pirates, as a team, took third place marking the fifth time this season out of six events with a Top 3 finish.
"I'm really proud of the way our guys completed this week on a very difficult golf course," said ECU Director of Golf/Men's Head Coach Kevin Williams. "I can't say enough about the continued good play of Philip Bondestad and Nathan O'Neal. Philip's final round of 69 (3-under) was very impressive to watch."
Bondestad posted rounds of 72, 74 and 69 registering his fifth career Top 5 placement at ECU. O'Neal finished tied for 14th place with a score of 219 (3-over) that included round of 74, 73 and 72. Junior Davis DeLille and freshman Holden Rucker, who both recorded their first collegiate starts, finished tied for 35th with a score of 226 (10-over). DeLillie carded rounds of 79, 72 and 75 while Rucker shot rounds of 74, 77 and 75. Rounding out the Pirates roster was senior Carter Busse who finished tied for 53rd with a 229 (13-over) consisting of rounds of 72, 78 and 79.
Xavier won the team title with a 54-hole score of 863 (1-under) followed by USC Aiken in second with a score of 871 (7-over). ECU placed third at 879 (15-over), while Denver (880/ 16-over) and Mercer (885/ 21-over) rounded out the Top five.
ECU returns the action on Monday March 10 when it travels to Aiken, S.C. to compete in the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event will be played at the Palmetto Golf Club.
