
ECU Set To Compete In AAC Championships

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's swimming and diving team returns to action this week when it participates in the 2025 American Athletic Conference Championships in Dallas, Texas. The four-day event, which will run from Feb. 19 through Feb. 22, will be hosted by SMU at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr McMillion Natatorium.

The Pirates, who sport a 11-1 overall record on the year in dual meet action, will compete against Florida Atlantic, FIU, Rice, North Texas and Tulane. Events will be scored through the top 24 competitors in each event.Â

Live coverage of the American Women's Swimming and Diving Championship will be available on ESPN+ for all seven sessions. Preliminary sessions will begin at 11:30 a.m. Eastern/10:30 a.m. Central Thursday through Saturday. Coverage of the finals will begin at 6 p.m. Eastern/5 p.m. Central on Wednesday and Saturday and at 6:10 p.m. Eastern/5:10 p.m. Central on Thursday and Friday.

FIU captured its first American championship in 2024, while Rice was third. East Carolina's Frida Zuniga Guzman was the 2024 Championship's Most Outstanding Diver. FIU captured seven events in 2024, while Rice won six.

FIU is the top seed in two of the five relay events, including the 200-yard freestyle and 200 medley relays, while Tulane is top seed in the 400 freestyle and 400 medley relays. Rice comes in with the top time this season in the 800 freestyle relay.
