GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina plays its final home game of the season on Thursday night as the Pirates welcome Tulane to Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum for a pivotal showdown ahead of next week's American Athletic Conference tournament.
The game is slated to tip at 7 p.m. on ESPN+ with Patrick Johnson (play-by-play) and Si Seymour (analyst) on the call and Matison Little (sideline) reporting from the baseline. Pirate fans can also tune in to 107.9 WNCT FM, 94.3 The Game or download the IBX app to hear Daron Vaught call the action.
Tickets for Thursday's game have been discounted to $5 and the 2,000 rally towels will be given away by the Pirate Club.
ECU is led in scoring by Preseason All-AAC First Team guard RJ Felton's 18.8 points per night (4th in AAC) and the senior also leads the team in rebounding with 6.7 rebounds per game. C.J. Walker adds 17.6 points per contest (5th in AAC) on 52.7 percent shooting from the floor and 6.6 rebounds while Jordan Riley averages 14.3 ppg, 5.9 rpg and a league-best two steals per game to round out ECU's top scorers. The trio of Felton, Walker, Riley makes up 66 percent of the Pirates' point production. Felton (544 points) and Walker (509 points) are the only Pirate teammates in program history to both score 500 or more points in the same season.
Last Time Out
RJ Felton scored 27 points as East Carolina survived a last-minute comeback attempt to defeat Charlotte, 78-76, on Sunday afternoon inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
Scouting the Green Wave
Tulane comes into Thursday night's matchup currently in the fourth seed and winners of two in a row after escaping Tulsa with a 79-77 win on Saturday. Just like the Pirates, the Green Wave have been playing some of their best basketball as of late, winning four of their last five. Rowan Brumbaugh controls Tulane's potent offense, averaging 15.7 points per game and 4.7 dimes per contest.
Series History
East Carolina leads the all-time series with Tulane 19-18 as the Green Wave took the first meeting between the two teams, 86-81, in New Orleans on Feb. 19. ECU is 12-7 all-time in Minges against Tulane and have won their last six games at home against the Green Wave.
On This Date
The Pirates are 3-5 in games played on Mar. 6 with the last game on this date occurring just last season, an 80-77 overtime loss at SMU. The last season that ECU won on this date was the 2012-13 season when ECU defeated Tulane at home, 88-85, in Conference USA competition.
