ECU Tied For Seventh At AAC Championships

SARASOTA, Fla. – East Carolina carded a second-round score of 281 (7-under) and moved into a tie for seventh place at the 2025 American Athletic Conference Championships. The three-day, 54-hole event is being played at the Ritz-Carlton Members Club (par 72, 7,292 yards). Third and final round action begins Wednesday morning for the Pirates starting at 9:35 a.m. (ET) from the 10th tee.

Junior Philip Linberg Bondestad made a huge move catapulting 31 spots and is currently tied for 15th place with a 36-hole score of 141 (3-under), where he shot a 7-under pa 65 for the lowest round of the day. Freshman Holden Rucker is one shot back of Bondestad with a score of 142 (2-under) and is tied for 17th. Seniors Carter Busse and Tyler DeChellis are tied for 33rd with a score of 146 (2-over), while sophomore Nathan O'Neal is in 38th place with a 147 (3-over).

Nationally ranked USF (No. 33) leads the team portion of the event with a score of 554 (22-under) and holds a one-shot lead over Charlotte (555/21-under) after it posted a 17-under during second round play. Rounding out the top five are Memphis (565/11-under) in third, Florida Atlantic (567/9-under) in fourth followed by North Texas and UTSA who are tied for fifth with a score of 568 (8-under).
