Pirates Compete at Charlotte Invitational Friday and Saturday
April 24, 2025 | Track & Field
GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina track & field team is set to compete at the Charlotte Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center.
Â
Coming off of a brief break in competition, the Pirates will look to build on what has already been a record-setting regular season as they bring a full contingent of athletes to the Queen City.
Â
With Kaylee McCullough being the lone Pirate competing last week—the graduate student finished second in the 10,000m at the Virginia Challenge—the team will be entering fresh with several athletes entered who have already nabbed top 10 marks in program history. One who will be trying to make it official is freshman Kelly Ufodiama who has the fastest 100m time in program history already this season but will be looking to make it wind legal this time out.
Â
Other athletes to watch for include Jocelyn Pringle who has been flirting with breaking 60m in the hammer this season; Terence Booth, Jr., who remains a threat at any point to break the program record in the 110m hurdles; Kailey Elliott, who broke the ECU record for the 60m hurdles indoor and will look to take down the 100m hurdles record outdoors; and the men's throws duo of Shakiel Dacres and Brandon Gayle who both rank in the top 10 in program history in the shot put, with Dacres also owning the fourth-best discus mark from earlier this season.
Â
Live results for the meet will be available via timinginc.com.
