GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team will look to match its season best win streak at six as they welcome the Wichita State Shockers to Minges Coliseum on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. contest.
With the weather clearing up, Tuesday night is a great opportunity to come out and support the Pirates. Tickets are still available for purchase starting at just $7 for adults and $5 for children.
For those unable to make it out, the game will be available for streaming on ESPN+ and radio on 94.3 The Game. The team of Evan Budrovich, Brittany Hoyt and Matison little will have the call on ESPN+ while Patrick Johnson will be on the headset for radio.
Last Time Out
The Pirates took over in the second half, making eight of 12 three-point attempts in the final 20 minutes to run bast UAB, 87-61, on the road. The team was led by Anzhané Hutton who poured in 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Jayla Hearp and Keanna Rembert both put up 17 in the game, and Taylor Barner and Zaniah Zellous both hit double figures as well. Kennedy Fauntleroy led the group, matching her season high with eight assists to pace ECU to a season-best 27 assists overall. The Pirates led for over 36 minutes in the victory after taking the lead just minutes in.
Scouting Wichita State
The Shockers enter the game at 4-16 and 1-6 in American Conference play after defeating Memphis last Tuesday, 66-59, snapping a seven-game skid. Abby Cater dropped a program record 42 points in the game on her way to earning league Co-Player of the Week honors. Cater continues to lead the team in scoring on the season with 11.8 points and 4.3 rebounds, just ahead of Jaila Harding's 11.7 points per game. As a team, Wichita State ranks in the top 100 nationally in just two categories: blocks per game and three point percentage defense, ranking 71st and 88th in the categories, respectively.
Series History
The Pirates and Shockers met earlier this season in Kansas, an 83-56 win for ECU. Kennedy Fauntleroy led the way in that game with 21 points, eight assists, four rebounds and three steals. Jayla Hearp, Anzhané Hutton and Taylor Barner also scored in double figures in the win. Wichita State was led by Treasure Thompson's 12 points. The Pirates lead the overall series, 9-4, dating back to 2018, and have won six straight in the series.

Reclaim
Each season the Pirates choose an important word, meaningful to the team, to put on the back of their practice jerseys. In 2025-26, the team chose the word "Reclaim", signifying the group's goals after a turbulent 2024-25 of returning to their roots as a defensive minded team, getting back to their standards as role models in the community and striving for excellence in the classroom.
