
Zuniga Has Record-Setting Performance In 3-Meter As Pirates Complete Third Day At American Conference Championship

Greensboro, N.C. – The East Carolina women's swimming and diving team completed its third day of competition at the American Conference Swimming and Diving Championship at the Greensboro Aquatics Center on Friday.
Heading into the final day, Rice leads with 1,040.5 points, ahead of second-place Liberty with 892 points. East Carolina is third with 774.5 points, followed by FIU (700), Tulane (646.5), James Madison (583), Marshall (555.5), Florida Atlantic (553) and North Texas (467).
Frida Zuniga broke the Championship record and won the 3-meter diving event with a total of 378.45 points. It is her second event win of the Championship and second time winning the 3-meter event, along with 2024 when she previously set the record with 352.80 points.Â
"Gained some good points tonight," head coach Matthew Jabs said. "We did a good job of moving up from our morning seeds, and it's been fun to watch. So proud of Frida, our divers and Coach McIntire as well."
Carlie Clements earned silver medalist honors in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.14.
The championship concludes Saturday with preliminaries beginning at 10:30 a.m. and finals starting at 3:45 p.m. Both sessions will be available on ESPN+.
