
Pirates Defeat Lehigh, 4-3

ORLANDO, Fla. - The East Carolina women's tennis team defeated Lehigh in a 4-3 decision on Wednesday in a neutral site meting.
The Pirates started the day off strong with a victory in the doubles point, earning 6-4 margins from the tandems of Kim Auerswald and Reese Calvo as well as Lilly Lancaster and Xenia Jeromin.
In singles play, Auerswald (7-6, 6-2) and Calvo (6-2, 5-7 [10-1]) both earned victories, on courts two and five, respectively. On court six, Joan Madi (6-4. 2-6 [10-7]) also emerged victorious.Â
The victory moves ECU to 2-4 on the season while the loss drops Lehigh to 3-10.
The Pirates will be back in action tomorrow for a match against Hillsborough Community College.
