GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina enters the outdoor season with strong momentum following an impressive indoor campaign marked by record-breaking performances and event victories. Â

The Pirates were led by standout sprinter Kelly Ufodiama, who received second-team All-American accolades and set a program record in the 60-meter dash while also delivering consistent top finishes. Tyson Tippett emerged as a key contributor for the men with a 60-meter title and multiple podium performances. ECU showed its balance with success across the board, including dominant efforts from the women's stance group, highlighted by a sweep of the 3000 meters, as well as key wins in the 400 meters and 4x400 relay. The field events also proved to be a strength, with long jump victories on both the men's and women's sides and consistent top finishes in the throws.  Â

East Carolina totaled 10 event wins at the 11th annual Bill Carson Invitational, highlighted by lifetime best throws from Shakiel Dacres and Jocelyn Pringle and a 1-2-3 sweep in the women's hammer. The Pirates added multiple track victories, including the 400m hurdles, 800m, 5000m, 400m and 4x400m relay, with Faith Spencer posting a top five program mark in the triple jump. Overall, ECU combined wins, personal bests, and top-10 marks in a strong home performance.  Â
