
Ethan Norby Named American Conference Pitcher of the Week

GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina Baseball's Ethan Norby gained the honor for American Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon. Norby was able to receive this honor for his astounding performance in the opening game of the series against UTSA.
This is the second time this season that an East Carolina player has received the Conference Pitcher of the Week honor, with this being the first in conference play.

Norby's starting performance on Friday made career strides and season highs for the left-hander. Able to hold off UTSA for 7.0 innings, having a season high of 12 strikeouts against the Roadrunner lineup, shutting them out, and only giving up one hit and three walks on the day. With Norby's stellar outing, he received the win for the Pirates, as well as helping aid the first shutout that UTSA has had this season, with a combined two-hitter game.
With his season-high outing, he also hit a career milestone. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Norby was able to throw to three batters, in nine pitches, resulting in three strikeouts for an immaculate inning for the Pirates, his first recorded in his collegiate career.
Norby currently leads the conference in strikeouts with 50, with a season ERA of 3.03 and three wins. In his six appearances, he has thrown a total of 35.2 innings, being able to hold his opponents to a .255 batting average.
