GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team closes out the 2025-26 regular season on Saturday afternoon against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in the Reynolds Center. The game is set for 3 p.m. ET and will be available for streaming on ESPN+.
Last Time Out
The Pirates downed Charlotte on Senior Day, 64-57. The team shook off a slow start from the field, using a 25-32 clip from the foul line to maintain the lead before using a 13-2 run in the third quarter to pull away. Anzhané Hutton led the team with 14 points while Kennedy Fauntleroy had another outstanding day with 10 points, six assists and three steals while only turning the ball over once. Charlotte was led by Princess Anderson's 23 points, going well into the second half with the guard having scored more than half of the team's points.
Scouting Tulsa
The Golden Hurricane enter the game with a 19-10 record and an 11-6 clip in American Conference play after downing UTSA, 53-41, in a road contest on Tuesday evening. On the season, the team is paced by the tandem of Mady Cartwright and Hannah Riddick who average 15.4 and 15.0 points per game, respectively, while Riddick leads the team in rebounding with 6.9 boards per game. Jade Clack also averages in double figures with 10.0 points per game to go with nearly five boards per outing and team highs with 42 steals and 23 blocks. As a team, like the Pirates, Tulsa does a great job getting to the foul line, ranking top 50 nationally in free throws made per game while putting good work in defensively with 18.07 turnovers forced per game which is 96th in the NCAA this season. On the other side, though, the Golden Hurricane turn the ball over more than 19 times per game, ranking 323rd nationally in the category.
Series History
The Pirates and Golden Hurricane met for the first time this season on Jan. 13, a 79-48 victory for ECU in Minges. It was a dominant outing for the team with 11 made threes, led by Savannah Brooks' 4-5 clip from deep. Brooks put up 19 points while Kennedy Fauntleroy led the way with 21 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Keanna Rembert added 16 of her own and no Tulsa players scored in double figures. Overall in the series, Tulsa still owns a narrow 17-16 edge dating back to 2006.
ECU versus...
ECU is 89-111 all time in American Conference regular season play and 56-59 in the McNeill era. ECU is 127-152 all time in games against current members of the American Conference.
ECU is 16-17 all time against schools from the state of Oklahoma (all Tulsa) and 4-6 in the McNeill era.

- ECU has made 172 three-point shots this season, sixth in program history.
- ECU made 25 free throws on a 78.1 percent clip (25-32). It is the seventh time making 20+ free throws in a game this season, all of which were done while shooting 75+ percent.

National Rankings
Through 30 games, the Pirates rank 15th in the NCAA in free throws made per game (15.60), 19th in turnovers forced per game (21.30), 22nd in turnover margin (+6.17), 42nd in steals per game (10.6). Individually, Kennedy Fauntleroy ranks 26th in the nation in steals with 82. Fauntleroy is also 40th nationally in assists with 144.
Something More Than Free
The Pirates have made 468 free throws this season on a 73.5 percent clip. If it holds, that would be a program record percentage (72.0 in 2013-14). It is tied for the fourth most total free throws made in a season in program history.
Improved Shooting
Through 30 games, the Pirates have hit 172 combined threes, sixth most in a season in program history. Six players have made 15+ threes so far: Taylor Barner, Savannah Brooks, Kennedy Fauntleroy, Jayla Hearp and Keanna Rembert and Anzhané Hutton. That is a first in program history.
Senior Class
The Pirates have now won 80 games in the last four seasons, tied for the program record for a four-year span. The class from 1977-81 is the only other in ECU history to win 80 games, meaning that with one more win, the class of Jayla Hearp and Bobbi Smith would become the winningest four-year class in program history.
At the Helm
2025-26 is the Pirates' seventh under the tutelage of Kim McNeill. The program has a 107-101 record under her leadership.
McNeill is the fourth coach in program history with multiple 20-win seasons (Cathy Andruzzi, Emily Manwaring, Heather Macy).
With the Charlotte win, Kim McNeill tied Catherine Bolton for the most career wins in program history with 108. Heather Macy (134) and Sharon Baldwin-Tener (126) hold the top two spots.
Reclaim
Each season the Pirates choose an important word, meaningful to the team, to put on the back of their practice jerseys. In 2025-26, the team chose the word "Reclaim", signifying the group's goals after a turbulent 2024-25 of returning to their roots as a defensive minded team, getting back to their standards as role models in the community and striving for excellence in the classroom.
