ECU Tied For Fourth At American Conference Championship

SARASOTA, Fla. – The East Carolina men's golf team is currently tied for fourth place after the conclusion of the first round at the American Conference Men's Golf Championship on Monday afternoon. The championship is being held at the par-72, 7,417-yard Ritz-Carlton Members Club.

East Carolina posted a score of 282 (6-under) through 18 holes of play marking the fifth lowest team round this season. The Pirates, who are tied with South Florida and UAB, are 11 strokes behind tournament leader and No. 22 Charlotte after it carded a 17-under par 271. Memphis and Rice hold a share of second place following rounds of 272 (16-under).

Drew O'Neal leads the Pirates and is in ninth place after shooting a 31 (5-under) on the front nine and a 37 (1-over) on the back for a score of 68 (4-under). He collected five birdies, all on the front nine, with one bogey and 11 total pars. Luke Mosley is one shot back of Drew O'Neal in 13th place after posting a 3-under 69 (35-34).

Nathan O'Neal shot a 1-under 71 (36-35) and is in 18th place, while Philip Linberg Bondestad (41-33=74/2-over) and Oscar Crowe (38-37=75/3over) are in 37th and 44th following Monday's play.
