May 06, 2026 | Soccer
GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina soccer team will play a competitive 18-game schedule in the fall, featuring nine home games and seven games against in-state opponents, the program announced Tuesday.
Â
The Pirates' fall slate officially commences on the road on Aug. 13 and 16 with contests at Liberty and UNCG. The team will spend a week at home for a three-game stand on Bill Clark Homes Field at Johnson Stadium featuring bouts with Campbell (Aug. 20), High Point (Aug. 23) and App State (Aug. 27).
Â
Another pair of in-state road games at Western Carolina and UNCW on Aug. 30 and Sept. 3 set up ECU's non-conference finale at home against VCU on Sept. 10.
Â
The Pirates enter the season after a 6-8-4 campaign in 2025 in what was the first season under the guidance of head coach Emily Buccilla. The team will look to build upon splashes of brilliance last season, entering the fall with several key players returning as well as some talented newcomers looking to bolster the lineup.
Â
After a 4-4-2 mark in American Conference play a year ago, the Pirates will kick off league play on the road for a tilt with Tulsa (Sept. 17) before returning to Greenville for a pair with UTSA (Sept. 24) and UAB (Sept. 27).
Â
Road games at Temple and Charlotte will begin the month of October on the first and eighth before a standalone home game against Rice (Oct. 10) sends the Pirates into the second half of conference competition.
Â
From there, the team will alternate road and home games, beginning with Florida Atlantic in the Sunshine State on Oct. 15. The penultimate home game against North Texas (Oct. 22) sets up a premier meeting with perennial league favorite Memphis on the road on Oct. 30.
Â
The Pirates conclude the regular season with another significant battle, this time against South Florida on Nov. 3. The American Conference Tournament will be held Nov. 8-14.
