Over 300 Student-Athletes Named To American Conference Academic Honor Roll

IRVING, Texas – Over 300 East Carolina student-athletes have been named to the 2025-26 American Conference Honor Roll according to an announcement by the league office Wednesday. It marks the second-straight year and fourth time since joining The American that 300 or more Pirate student-athletes have earned the academic honor.

For the third year in a row, 10 or more Pirate squads (11 for 2025-26) have put at least 80 percent of its roster on the American All-Academic Team including for teams with 100 percent representation in baseball (41 of 41), men's cross country (8 of 8), men's golf (9 of 9) and women's golf (9 of 9).

Remaining programs with 80 percent or better were softball (22 of 23/95.7 percent), lacrosse (31 of 33/93.4 percent), soccer (24 of 26/92.3 percent), tennis 7 of 8/87.5 percent), swimming & diving (23 of 27/85.2 percent), women's basketball (11 of 13/84.6 percent) and volleyball (12 of 15/80.0 percent).
Nominations for the All-Academic Team are submitted by each of the American Athletic Conference's member institutions. They are then reviewed and approved by the American Conference Academic Affairs Committee. To be eligible for the all-academic team honor, a nominee must have competed in an American Conference-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.
