WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - East Carolina dominated Wake Forest on Friday night with a three-set sweep. The Pirates held the Demon Deacons to a .088 hitting percentage, while ECU posted a season-high .312 hitting percentage.

SET ONE: EAST CAROLINA 25, WAKE FOREST 18
The Pirates set the tone early in the first set. Pirate offense shined, with Aulie Huff recording six kills and Angeles Alderete and Ellie Pate adding three each.

ECU had two team blocks in the set, helping the Pirates keep the Demon Deacons below a .100 hitting percentage.

The Pirates posted their highest hitting percentage in a set, with Huff recording an .857 on her own.

Wake Forest struggled with seven attack errors and three service errors, while ECU had only two attack errors and two service errors.

SET TWO: EAST CAROLINA 25, WAKE FOREST 23
Although the Demon Deacons opened with a four-point run, the Pirates slowly clawed their way back.

Wake Forest outhit the Pirates in set two, 18 kills to ECU's 14, but the Pirates stayed within reach.

Brook Watkins went on a five-point run to help the Pirates earn their first lead change of the set.

With four lead changes and three ties, a Wake Forest service error gave the Pirates the lead for the rest of the set.

Huff and Pate totaled four kills each, while Bailey notched a .500 hitting percentage. Pirate defense added 3.0 team blocks, with Pate recording a solo block and a block assist.

Wake Forest set seven attack errors with two service errors and two reception errors that helped the Pirates solidify a comfortable two-set lead.

SET THREE: EAST CAROLINA 25, WAKE FOREST 11
Set three marked the lowest score the Pirates have held an opponent since October 2025, when they kept Charlotte to nine in set two.

Alderete started the rally with a four-point run, and the Pirates never looked back. Clara Cloninger added a five-point run of her own to stretch the lead even further.

For the first time this season, ECU held an opponent to a negative hitting percentage, and the Pirates responded with 10 kills and 6.0 team blocks.

Nina Edwards and Huff each tallied two block assists, while Huff added three kills offensively. Alderete added four kills and led the set in hitting percentage at .667.

This is the first time in program history that the Pirates have beaten the Demon Deacons on their home court, and the second straight win against Wake Forest.

Huff led the Pirates offensively with 11 kills, the only double-digit total on the night, while three other Pirates had seven or more kills.

ECU finished with a season-high 9.0 team blocks, and Watkins posted a career-high 30 assists and a kill.

The Pirates will be back in action Saturday afternoon, taking on East Tennessee State at 2:00 p.m. ET.
