Kate Moore spent 10 seasons (2010-20) as a member of the ECU Swimming & Diving coaching staff after a decorated four-year career as an Pirate student-athlete.
During Moore's time on the staff, the Pirates won four American Athletic Conference men's titles and sent nine athletes to compete at the NCAA Championship meet. ECU athletes also captured 41 individual conference titles during her tenure and 21 relay championships.
A native of Pottstown, Pa., Moore was a four-time all-conference performer, championship finalist and U.S. Open qualifier. As a junior in 2006, she achieved personal best times in the 200 and 400 IM, which were both ranked among the top 10 times in school history. The following year she posted the second-fastest time ever at ECU in the 100-yard butterfly. She also recorded the second-fastest time in school history in the 200-yard butterfly.

Her passion for the sport was on display even as a freshman and her diligence in the pool was rewarded as she voted the team's Most Improved Swimmer during the 2003-04 season. The following season she was the recipient of the ECU Coaches Award. At the conclusion of the 2006-07 season, she received the team's Most Outstanding Swimmer award.
She received her bachelor's degree in physical education in 2007 and earned her master's degree in health education two years later.
