Purple and Gold Meet Shows Positive Outlook for Season

Gold came out on top with the men bringing in 96 and purple trailed behind by only three points with 93. The gold women totaled at 130 purple with 94.
Four purple and gold inner squad records were broken by the women today. The 400 medley relay team of Holly Williams, Kelly Shinton, Katie Kochman and Adrienne Williams came in with 4:00.1. Holly Williams set a new record in the 200 IM with 2:09.09 and the 200 back with 2:05.67. The 400 free relay team of Martha Snead, Sarah Hunt, Aryn Letterman and Lara Fuller set a new record of 3:43.39.
Coach Rick Kobe commented on his teams performances today: "I felt it was a very successful inner squad meet with four records set and a lot of really solid swims for this early in the season. We are looking forward to starting the season on Wednesday against NC State."
In diving action coach Rich MacDonald commented: "I thought they did an extremely well, they are a lot farther along in the season than I expected them to be."
The Pirates return to the pool to take on NC State, October 23 at 4:00 pm.
