ECU Male Swimmers Defeat Duke, 154-83

The ECU men won 10 out of the 13 events, including winning both the 400 free relay (3:12.94) and the 400 medley relay (3:30.08).
Individually, the Pirates had tremendous success. Junior Dean Cheek placed first in both the 500 free (4:47.07) and the 1000 free (9:49.99). Four sophomores took first place in their respective events: Andrew Dragunas in the 200 fly (1:54.46), Gavin Stark in the 100 free (47.94), Tyler Devinney in the 50 free (20.88) and Casey Cronin in the 200 IM (1:56.64). Junior Matt Walker placed first in the 200 free (1:42.12).
In the diving well, sophomore Rob Derr earned first place on the one-meter dive with a score of 277.125.
ECU women took first place in five of the 13 events. Sophomore Diane Parker earned first in both the 200 IM (2:06.67) and the 200 butterfly (2:05.23). The Pirates took the 400 medley relay at 3:54.73. Sophomore Lara Fuller placed first in the 200 free (1:55.35) and freshman Holly Williams took first place in the 200 back (2:06.13).
The Pirates look to improve their scores and face James Madison Friday, November 1 in Minges Aquatic Center at 3 p.m.
