ECU Swimming and Diving Teams Have Weekend of Success

Against the College of Charleston the Lady Pirates (4-1) took the top three spots in seven events and against Davidson the women took first, second and third in the 200 free, 50 free and 100 free.
Sophomore Diane Parker took first in all her events on both days, in the 100 fly (56.68) and 100 breast (1:05.52) against the College of Charleston, the 200 fly (2:05.53) and 200 free (1:54.55) versus Davidson. Freshman Holly Williams placed first in the 1000 free (10:25.42) and the 200 back (2:04.54) against Davidson. Senior diver Carrie Wright earned first on the one meter dive both days. Sophomore Lara Fuller took first in the 400 IM (4:37.78) against the College of Charleston and the 200 IM (2:08.52) versus Davidson .
The men (4-1) had two days of success as well, taking first place in all 26 events. They took the top three spots in 13 events over both days. Junior Matt Walker took first place in the 200 IM (1:54.43) and the 100 free (46.35) against Davidson, versus the College of Charleston Walker took first in the 200 free (1:40.04). Sophomore Casey Cronin took first place in the 200 free against Davidson (1:41.61) and in the 400 IM against the College of Charleston (4:03.98).
"We are swimming really fast right now," said Head Coach Rick Kobe after this weekend's victories. "This team has the potential to be one of the best we've ever had here."
The Pirates head to George Washington Saturday, November 16.
