ECU Swim Team Announces Signee
11/22/2002
GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina University's head swim coach Rick Kobe announced the signing of Emily Loyd to a National Letter of Intent for the 2003-2004 season.
Loyd, a senior at Saint Vincent's Academy in Savannah, Ga., swims under Coach Sue Howe. One of the top flyers in Georgia, Loyd's personal best time in the 100 fly is 59.82 and 2:07.87 in the 200 fly.
"She has outstanding 200 fly times and will be a good fit for our program," said Kobe after the signing. "We're not looking to sign many people early. We are looking to get a little more stroke specific in signing in the spring. We are excited to get someone of her caliber committed to us. Recruiting is off to a great start."
Loyd is the daughter of Jean and Hugh Loyd.
