"We swam an absolutely incredible meet," Coach Rick Kobe stated. "We set something like 14 varsity and freshman records and should have several of our kids with some of the top national times when those come out. We're swimming great and everyone's doing an awesome job."
In Friday's competition, the Pirates set four varsity records. For the ECU women, Williams set the team's varsity and freshman records in the 400IM. Parker set a new varsity mark in the 100 fly and made the NCAA provisional cut. Alfrey also met the NCAA provisional mark in the 100 breaststroke. For the Pirate men, Walker set the varsity mark in the 200 free with his NCAA provisional mark and diver Derr met the NCAA sectional standard.
The Pirates will rest and train during the month of December and have their first meet after the break on January 3 against the University of Vermont at Palm Beach, Fla.
