ECU Golf Team Adds Two More to Roster

Andren will transfer to ECU after playing two years at Shelton State Junior College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A 2001 National Junior College Athletic Association Division II All-American, Andren recorded nine top five finishes in his junior college career. During the summer seasons, he has represented the Bro-Balsta Golf Club?s Elite team on the Swedish Division I circuit. In the classroom, Andren maintained a 3.7 GPA and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
"Calle has experienced much success in his two years of junior college play, and we will look for him to make an immediate impact on our team next year," said Williams. "Depth was the key to our success this year. The addition of Calle and our two early fall signees, along with having five returning players next year, will help strengthen our team even further."
Helliesen will add international experience to a women's program which will enter only its third season next year. A four-year member of the Norwegian National Junior team, Helliesen is now competing for the Norwegian National Ladies team. She has participated in the European Young Masters, the European Girls Championship, and finished second twice in the Norwegian Junior Championship ('99, '00). In 2000 she finished third in the Scandinavian Juniors Championship.
"Heidi brings a wealth of international experience which will be a huge asset," said Williams. "We have competed against several of her fellow Norwegian National Team members this year and based on their success, I am very excited about the impact she will have."
