Angela Manzo Named Conference USA Co-Hitter Of The Week

Manzo went 11-for-20 at the plate this week in the six games ECU played. She had two hits, including one double and two runs scored in the Pirates doubleheader against North Carolina on Monday, April 29. In East Carolina's games against Elon on Wednesday, May 1, she went 4-for-7 with two RBIs and one run scored. Manzo walked twice in those four games.
This past weekend, against South Florida, Manzo got on base seven out of the eight times she was at the plate. She was intentionally walked twice, and struck out once. Manzo went 5-for-6 in her other six plate appearances, including one double, one RBI, and two runs scored. Manzo leads the Pirate softball team with a .385 batting average.
East Carolina will travel to Tampa, Fla. this week to participate in the Conference USA Softball Tournament. The Pirates will play UAB in game one of the tournament on Thursday, May 9, at 10:30 a.m.
