Four Lady Pirates Earn All-C-USA Softball Honors

Manzo, a senior from Hicksville, N.Y., leads the Lady Pirates in hitting with a .385 batting average, third best in Conference USA. A preseason all-conference selection, Manzo leads Conference USA in hits (82) and doubles (21), and currently ranks second on the school's all-time list for hits, RBIs, and doubles.
Bridger, also a senior and native of Beaver, Penn., leads ECU in both home runs (4) and stolen bases (21). She ranks third in Conference USA with 21 thefts and fourth in runs scored with 35. Bridger also ranks third on the ECU all-time home run list with 21.
Junior Nicole Bacon has posted 22 victories this season against 15 losses with an earned run average of 0.85. Bacon tossed 12 shutouts and has struck out 10 or more batters in a game eight times, including a career-high 15 against Akron. Bacon also threw a no-hitter against UNC Greensboro, striking out 12 batters and walking one.
Freshman infielder Kate Manuse earned all-freshmen team honors by hitting .274 with eight doubles and 19 RBI. Manuse hit her first career home run this past weekend against South Florida, to help the Lady Pirates secure a spot in the C-USA postseason tournament.
ECU will take on UAB in the opening round of the Conference USA Tournament on Thursday at 10:30 at the USF Softball Complex on the campus of the University of South Florda.
