Baldwin Adds Two To Basketball Staff

Kolbe, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, comes to East Carolina from Mercer University, where she served as an assistant under Baldwin. While at Mercer, she helped with recruiting, and served as the academic coordinator. Kolbe was also involved with workouts, scouting, and administrative duties. Prior to her year at Mercer, Kolbe was an assistant coach at Valdosta State University where she had many of the same duties as she did at Mercer. The 25-year-old had an outstanding playing career at Division III Wittenburg College in Springfield, Ohio. She helped her team to three conference titles and two appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
Sallee, 32, joins the East Carolina staff after serving as an assistant coach for the Kent State women?s program for the past seven years. While with the Golden Flashes, he was responsible for recruiting and the coaching of the guards. KSU participated in the NCAA Tournament four of the seven years Sallee was with the team. Before coaching at Kent State, Sallee was at Idaho State University, where he recruited two Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year. Sallee graduated from Thomas Moore College in 1993, and it was at his alma mater that he began his coaching career. While at Thomas Moore, Sallee was a pitcher on the baseball team, going 8-1 in his senior season. The native of Lexington, Ky., is married to the former Mandy Nance and the couple has one child, Avery.
"Both Melissa and Brady will make a great addition to our staff," said Baldwin. "Brady is a great recruiter, has many contacts, and I expect he will be able to recruit great players here to ECU. Melissa will also be helping with recruiting, scouting and academic development, and with individual workouts. They both bring a tremendous amount of experience to the table, and we are looking forward to an exciting season."
Baldwin is expected to hire one more assistant before the beginning of basketball season.
