ECU's Gellard, Rose Win Flights in ODU Tennis Tournament

Gellard won four matches, all in straight sets, to claim the championship in men's flight C-1 singles while Rose grabbed five wins to gain the championship of men's flight D singles.
For the ECU women, Cristina Meilicke came up just short on her bid to win the women's flight D-1 singles title as she lost in the championship match in three sets. Teammate Raluca Baicu lost in the first round of the women's flight A-2 singles bracket, but rebounded for two wins in the consolation bracket before falling in the semifinals.
Over 300 individuals, representing 29 collegiate teams from around the region, were entered in the tournament.
