ECU Earns Second-Straight AAC Academic Title

GREENVILLE, N.C. – For the second-straight year, the East Carolina men's tennis team received the American Athletic Conference Team Academic Award the league office confirmed Sept. 10.

The Pirates finished the 2019-20 school year by earning a combined 3.64 grade point average, which marked the top GPA in the conference. ECU also finished with the AAC's top academic mark in 2018-19.

Six members of the team were named to the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, which requires student-athletes to hold a GPA average of at least 3.00. Wisse Jonker, Simon Labbe and Diogo Marques were all selected to the squad for the second year in a row, while Daniel Bird, Federico Masetti and Nelson Stafford each earned the honor for the first time.
