N.C. State Defeats Pirate Swimmers and Divers

RALEIGH, N.C. - N.C. State's men's swimming and diving team claimed 12
of the 13 events while the Wolfpack women won 11 of 13 events as the
Wolpack swimmers and divers handed East Carolina its first loss on
both the women's and women's side in college swimming and diving
action Tuesday evening at the Willis Casey Aquatics Center. The N.C
State men posted a 149-75 win while the Wolfpack women won 173-70.
On the women's side, the Pirates (2-1) scored wins in the final two events of the evening. Meredith Lindgren won the 200 breast, out touching the Pack's Priscilla Humberstone by three tenths of a second in a time of 2:22.48. ECU's relay squad of Adrienne Williams, Lindsay Holman, Courtney Kos and Martha Snead won the 400 Free in 3:35.83. Freshman Kate Gordon continued to swim well finishing second in the 200 Free (1:55.00) and the 200 butterfly (2:05.39).
ECU's Casey Cronin posted the only Pirate win of the evening on the men's side, winning the 200 IM in 1:53.99. He also placed second in the 500 free (4:40.88).
ECU returns to action Nov. 8 when the Pirates travel to Davidson.
