
Parker Paces Swimming and Diving at Nike Cup

Parker made two of her "B" cuts in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. She finished the 200 IM in 2:02.37 and swam 54.66 in the 100 butterfly. She posted a 2:01.87 in the 200 butterfly.
Freshman Kate Gordon made it to the finals of the 100 butterfly and finished fourth in the finals and 12th overall finishing in 56.95. Katie Kochman made it to the consolation finals and finished third in the consolation round and 19th overall in 57.38. Meredith Lindgren won the consolation round of the 100 backstroke in 1:05.99 while Kelly Shinton finished fourth in 1:07.19. Sophomore Holly Williams made it to the finals in the 200 backstroke and finished fourth (2:03.57). Sophomore Adrienne Williams finished third in the consolation finals of the 50 freestyle (23.88). ECU's 400 freestyle relay team of Parker, Courtney Felker, Martha Snead and Adrienne Williams finished seventh out of 28 teams in 3:29.97.
North Carolina won the women's competition scoring 884 points followed by Michigan (748), Clemson (521), Virginia Tech (417), Louisiana State (281), Kentucky (280), Syracuse (239), ECU, N.C. State (176) and Kenyon (129).
On the men's side, sophomore Robbie Derr finished fourth in 1-meter diving posting a 259.20 in the prelims and 548.65 in the finals. Derr placed ninth in 3-meter diving while teammate Greg Detwiler finished 10th. Junior Casey Cronin won the consolation round of the 200 IM (1:52.44). Cronin also made it to the finals of the 200 freestyle and finished fifth and 13th overall (1:40.17).
Tennessee won the men's competition posting 971 points followed by North Carolina (595), Clemson (545), Virginia Tech (494), Kentucky (419), Syracuse (287), Louisiana State (241), Kenyon (135) and N.C. State (119).
ECU takes this week off before returning to action Dec. 4-6 for the U.S. Open in final meet of the fall season.
