Wright (Lansing, N.Y.), a senior diver at ECU, holds three ECU varisty records--the one-meter board with six dives (268.245), one-meter with 10 dives (362.69) and the three-meter board with 11 dives (386.65). She has been named Conference USA Diver of the Week once this season and has been victorious in 12 out of the 20 events she has entered this year. Wright's best performance came when she finaled at the Nike Cup Invitational and finished in fifth place.
Derr (Blomsburg, Pa.) is the freshman record holder in all six events. He holds the varsity record on the one-meter board (293.00), three-meter with 11 dives (526.40) and on the platform (300.65). Derr's best performance was at the Nike Cup Invitational where he earned a Bronze Medal on both the one-meter and three-meter events. He was a Conference USA silver medalist on three-meter board and was named the unofficial Conference USA freshman diver of the year.
"This weekend is a big event," said Head Diving Coach Rich MacDonald. "We are kind of just going in to get some experience, especially for Robbie. Carrie is coming off a tough conference meet where she hit the board with both hands, so we are hoping that she goes out well at this meet."
The Lady Pirates won the Conference USA Championships two weeks ago, and the men placed second in the conference meet.
