Friday Softball Rained Out in South Carolina

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. -- Due to rain in the area, first-round action of the 2003 Hampton Inn/Cougar Softball Invitational, scheduled for this weekend at the Jones Recreation Center, has been postponed.

East Carolina was initially scheduled to play three games on Friday--against Iona, Brown, and St. Francis--and a single game on Saturday against Toledo.

Saturday and Sunday's revised schedule for tournament play at the Jones Center and Patriots Point has not been determined and will be released later this afternoon.
