ECU Softball Finishes 1-2 at Cougar Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Lady Pirate softball team won one of three games in the 2003 Cougar Invitational, held Saturday and Sunday in Charleston, S.C.
The tournament schedule was truncated after rain washed out most of the action scheduled for Friday.
ECU opened play Saturday morning with a 5-2 loss to Northern Illinois. The Lady Pirates returned to the field at Jones Recreation Center Saturday night, where they defeated Toledo, 4-2.
On Sunday morning, the Lady Pirates fell to tournament champion Jacksonville State, 2-0.
ECU is now 11-8 overall and returns home to play a doubleheader against Elon on Thursday at 2 p.m.
