Lady Pirate Tennis Team Cruises to Win Over UNCW

East Carolina improved to 13-5 on the spring season by sweeping all six singles matches and earning the doubles point by winning two of three. UNCW fell to 6-7.
ECU's Lyndall Jordan and Raluca Baicu paired up to beat UNCW's Lindsey Hess and Sallie Kiser at flight one doubles, 9-8, in the closest-contested match of the afternoon. Kirstin Buchanan and Paulina Sierpinski cruised at flight two doubles with an 8-0 win over the Seahawks' Kirstin Mears and Lauren Fillietaz. At the three doubles position, Cheri Elkin and Cary Wyeth beat ECU's Emily Kohl and Cristina Meilicke, 8-2, for UNC Wilmington's only victory of the day.
Buchanan, Baicu, Jordan, Sierpinski, Kohl, and Meilicke won their respective singles matches for ECU, all in straight sets.
The Lady Pirates travel to Raleigh to face NC State on Thursday at 2 p.m.
