Men's Tennis Concludes Fall Season At ITA Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- All three inidvidual members of the East Carolina men's tennis team have been eliminated from the ITA Mideast Region Championships.
Nick Rose opened play with a qualifying round victory over P.J. Petrides of North Carolina in straight sets (6-3, 6-1), but then was eliminated by NC State's Andre Iriate in similiar fashion (1-6, 2-6).
Paulo Baumer and Darren Mansell were each eliminated in the opening round of the main draw.
Despite winning his opening set against Furman's Ben Pauluhn, 6-1, Baumer was unable to advance to the second round, dropping the final two sets (5-7, 4-6). Mansell lost in striaght sets to NC State's Val Banada (3-6, 6-7 (4)).
Baumer and Mansell also fell in the opening round of doubles play to the Maryland team of Ian Bliss and Troy DeMers (8-3).
The tournament concludes the fall season for the Pirates.
