
Trade Mart, Wachovia Bank to Sponsor Keith LeClair Invitational

"We appreaciate Trade Mart and Wachovia Bank for jumping on board and sponsoring such a special event for East Carolina," ECU head coach Randy Mazey said. "Without their support, it would not be possible to put on an event of this magnitude."
LeClair served as head coach at East Carolina from 1998-2002. He stepped down after the 2002 season after being diagnosed with a neuromuscular disorder. He still serves as a special advisor to the Pirate baseball program.
The Invitational will reunite coaches with a connection to LeClair. Georgia Southern head coach Rodney Hennon and assistant coach Mike Tiddick played for LeClair at Western Carolina. LeClair played for current Clemson head coach Jack Leggett at Western Carolina.
Weather permitting, the invitational kicks off Friday afternoon with ECU playing Georgia Southern at 1 p.m. The Pirates will then take on nationally-ranked Clemson approximately 30 minutes after game one. Saturday's schedule features a meeting between Clemson and Georgia Southern at 1 p.m. with the Pirates and Tigers meeting for the second time in two days following game one. The Invitational wraps up Sunday afternoon with Georgia Southern and Clemson battling at 1 p.m. ECU will face Georgia Southern in the invitational finale.
