Pinehurst Challenge Canceled Due to Winter Storm

PINEHURST, N.C. -- The 2004 College of Charleston Pinehurst Women's Golf Challenge, originally scheduled to begin Friday at Pinehurst #8 in Pinehurst, N.C., has been canceled due to inclement weather late last week that dumped several inches of snow on the course.

The Lady Pirates (72-27-1) were one of 18 schools scheduled for the three-day 54 hole tournament.

The accumulation of snow of the golf course was still to great to try and get the tournament underway today or tomorrow.

ECU will be back in action on March 15-16 when they travel to Tampa, Fla. for the Waterlefe Invitational.
