
Pirate Tennis Sweeps Charlotte, 7-0

The Pirates claimed all six singles points with wins by Charl Meyer, Paulo Baumer, Darren Mansell, Felipe Fonseca, Mark Gellard, and Gerard Galindo at flights one through six, respectively. Baumer, Fonseca, Gellard, and Galindo all won in straight sets.
ECU won the doubles point by taking all three doubles matchs. Meyer and Mansell won at flight one, Baumer and Nick Rose won at two, and Gellard and Fonseca teamed up for a win at three.
"It was a solid day for our guys," head coach Tom Morris said. "This is a good start to what hopefully will be a good season for us."
Thursday's match was originally scheduled for this past Tuesday but was postponed due to rain.
Up next for the Pirates is a pair of matches in Charleston, S.C. ECU will face Charleston Southern on Friday at 2 p.m. and take on College of Charleston Saturday at 10 a.m.
The next home match is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21 against Campbell.
